Outlook Forum

2026

Introduction

Every Outlook Forum begins with the same challenge: create something unmistakably California while making it feel unlike anything that came before it. For my sixth consecutive year leading creative for the event, that meant building on years of experience while starting again with a blank canvas. Hosted along the San Diego Bay in Chula Vista, Outlook Forum 2026 offered an opportunity to create a bright, optimistic identity inspired by Southern California.

Opportunity

For 2026, the newly opened Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center provided an expansive waterfront backdrop and a fresh perspective on Southern California.

We set out to capture the energy of the region through an expressive visual language. The goal was to create an identity that felt sunny, optimistic and distinctly Californian while remaining flexible enough to support a conference with hundreds of applications, multiple environments and numerous creative partners.

Conclusion

The project demonstrated the value of continuity in creative leadership. Six years of experience with Outlook Forum made it possible to anticipate challenges, build greater flexibility into the system and continue pushing the event somewhere new without losing what makes it recognizable.

The result was an experience designed not simply to represent California, but to capture the optimism, variety and momentum of the industry behind it.
